Description:

Ajrakh is a unique combination of hand block printing and resist dyeing craft that dates back to medieval times. In India, it is now practiced in Ajrakhpur, Gujarat by the khatris community. This fabric is hand crafted by an artisans from Kachchh district, Gujarat.

Natural dyes are a nontoxic alternative to conventionally used synthetic dyes that are causing irreversible damage to the planet. A number of plant-based dyes such as madder, indigo and Tesu flowers are used to obtain a wide range of colors and in fact, results in vibrant colors. They are dyed in Kutch, Gujarat using vegetable dyes.
